THOMAS HENRY CARTER SR.
GARNER - Thomas Henry Carter Sr., 95, died  Sept. 7, 2011, at Wake Assisted Living.

He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Edward Carl Carter and Charlotte Young Carter.

He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Wake Forest and attended New Bethel Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 9, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial was at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

Surviving: daughters, Betty Jo Gay (Robert Earl) of Youngsville, Patricia Anne Carter of Garner; sons, Thomas Henry Carter (Jean) of Durham, Durwood Lee Carter of Princeton; brothers, Elbert Carter of Carthage, Edward Carter of Georgia; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Jane Smith of Garner.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 2817 Durham Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
