ELNA D. BURNETTE
December 29, 1929 – September 20, 2011
LOUISBURG – Elna Davis Burnette, 81, of Louisburg, passed away Tuesday afternoon at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Burnette was a daughter of the late Zeb Baird and Louise Hines Davis and was preceded in death by her brother, Lacy Davis. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Funeral service was 11 a.m. Friday at Louisburg Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member, with Dr. Reggie Rushing officiating. Burial followed at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mrs. Burnette is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ronald Burnette; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Joe Poleo, son and daughter- in-law, Jimmy and Donna Burnette; grandchildren, Tony Coley and wife, Lacy; Kaid Driver and wife, Anita; Dana Bassett and husband, Rob; Matthew Poleo; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Driver, Madelyn and Ayden Bassett, all of Louisburg; sisters, Margaret Baker of Ashland, VA, Mariah May of Wheaton, MD, Dorothy Colbert of Greensboro; brother, Zeb Davis of Tampa, FL.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Louisburg Baptist Church, P.O. Box 730, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family received friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg
