DONALD H. EVANS
FRANKLINTON  —Donald Hight Evans Sr., 82, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011 at home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, in the chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Franklinton Chapel, with the Rev. Anita James officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Born in Granville County, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Verna Hight Evans. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #52. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was involved with building/construction his entire life and retired from North Carolina State University.

Surviving: sons, Donald “Don” Evans Jr., Craig Evans (Norma); sister, Dorothy Harris (Thomas); and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Vaughan Evans.

Visitation is from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 504 E. Mason St., Franklinton.
