FRED SIMMONS
LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Fred Simmons, 87, who died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church in Pollocksville, with the Rev. C. B. Chadwick officiating. The Rev. Michael Burden is pastor. Burial will follow in the Simmons family cemetery.

Surviving: wife, Mattie N. Simmons of the home; daughters, Angela Greenidge of Raleigh and Belinda Yager of Fletcher;  sisters, Elenor Coleman, Velven Milliner of Rocky Mount and Mary Ottley of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Wake services will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
