LOUISBURG —Sophia Clifton Wall, 98, died at her home on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 301 North Church Street, Louisburg.

She was the daughter of the late Maurice and Elizabeth Clifton. She was a native of Franklin County and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She was a school teacher in the N.C. Public School system, including Franklinton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver W. Wall; sons, Benjamin Thorpe Green and his wife Joan G. Green, and William Thomas Pike.

Surviving: children Sophia P. McCallister of Kiawah Island, S.C., James C. Pike Jr. (Lynn) of Loris, S.C., John H. Pike (Priscilla) of Oxford; stepchildren, Vann Wall Gardiner and Richard H. Wall; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or Community Home Care and Hospice, 1242 Dabney Drive, Henderson, NC 27536.
