EDITH WESTER WOOD
WELDON – Edith Wester Wood, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 in Littleton. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006 at Peachtree Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Jack Carter officiating.

Mrs. Wood was a loving wife, mother ad granny. She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Mamie Wester, and her husband, Henry Douglas Wood.

Survivors include her sons, Dan Wood and wife Patty of Littleton, and Fred Wood and wife Pam of Enfield; two daughters, Angie Shearin and husband Mike of Roanoke Rapids and Barbara Pearce and husband Ronnie of Louisburg; brother Joseph Wester of Spring Hope; grandchildren, Michael and Meghan Shearin, Claire Gaskins, Ashley Crenshaw, Gina Stephens, Jon Pearce and Crystal Haislip; great-grandchildren, Breanna Haislip, Dylan, Hayden and Samuel Stephens, Jack Crenshaw, and Lillie and Maggie Gaskins.

The family will receive friends today (Dec. 2) from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hockaday Funeral Home, 507 Highway 158 West, Roanoke Rapids. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peachtree Baptist Church Building Fund, 3705 North NC 581, Spring Hope, NC 27882.
