ANGUS BRIDGES JR.
OXFORD - Angus Bridges Jr., 82, died Monday, March 12, 2012 at Maria Parham Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m.  Saturday, March 17, at Christian Faith Center, with Pastor Brenda Timberlake officiating. Interment will follow in the Estes family cemetery.

He joined the U.S. Navy in 1948 and served in the Korean War, earning a number of medals during his military career. He had been employed by General Motors, was director of the Alexandria Alcohol Rehabilitation Program, and also worked as a physician’s assistant for Lorton Correctional Facility.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by  a sister, Florine; and two children, Larlon and Youtha.

Surviving: wife, Sadie McClendon Bridges; children, Richard, Keith (Sarah), LaZalia (Xavier), Quon (Paula), Valerie (Rick), Angus III, Mark (Michelle), Melody (Keith), and Yunlay.

 The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
