RALEIGH - Edna Beal Cyrus, 89, died Saturday, June 9, 2012. Graveside services were held at Flat Rock Baptist Church cemetery Tuesday, June 12, with the Rev. Bruce Johnson and the Rev. Tonya Hudgins officiating.

She was born the daughter of the late Thomas Edwin Beal and Ida Lee Holmes.  She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Vernon Cyrus; daughter, Ruth St. Clair; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Beal and Vivian Burnette; and one grandson, John H. Nichols, III. She had been a long-time employee of Ashworth Drugs in Cary for over 30 years.

Surviving: daughter, Marie (Harry) Householder of Leesburg, Va.; and one brother, John “JT” Beal of Cary; four grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson;  13 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to please send donations to the William M. Dunlap Center for Caring Hospice Home, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.  Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.
