GABRIEL “GABE” M. KINGSLEY
LOUISBURG - Gabriel Michael Kingsley, known as “Gabe,” left his family’s loving arms on the night of Friday July 6th. He was born in Brattleboro, VT on October 30, 2000. All who knew Gabe loved him for his smile and unwavering determination. He bravely lived a life of physical challenges and with the help of all those that loved him dearly, he fought the limitations his body imposed daily. Gabe’s fortitude showed perseverance and strength beyond his years.

Gabe loved nature and animals and was drawn to water. He had a competitive spirit and loved to participate with classmates and friends. He attended school at Wildwood Elementary School in Amherst, MA until he suffered from Pneumonia in 2011 that caused him to start Homebound Classroom Experience in Louisburg, where his family moved in August of 2011. Gabe loved his sister and his brother and wanted to be upfront and close with all that they did. He spent many hours in the last year snuggling and content with family and friends.

Throughout Gabe’s eleven years, he was and still is loved by his mother Christine, father Sean, sister Michaela, and brother Samuel Kingsley. Gabe will be loved and missed by his Grandparents, Charles and Charlene Rinaldi of Jacksonville, VT, Stuart and Sandra Kingsley of Colrain, MA; Great-Grandparents, Josephine Rinaldi of Enfield, CT, Charles Kinnear of Mt. Juliet, TN and Betty Berry of Dayton, TN. Gabe’s sixteen loving aunts and uncles, nineteen cousins and countless friends near and far will miss Gabe. So many amazing caregivers, teachers, nurses, and doctors helped Gabe and his family, and with their help, Gabe met his highest possible potential and he loved them all tremendously.

A service to celebrate Gabe’s life was held at 11 a.m. on July 10th at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg, NC, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net. The family received friends immediately after the service.

In lieu of flowers, if one wishes to donate, please make contributions to P.I.C.K: Parents of Infants and Children with Kernicterus, P.O. Box 10744, White Bear Lake, MN 55110. Information at www.pickonline.org.
