100 Years Old
LOUISBURG – Mary Brennan Campbell, a resident of Louisburg Nursing Center, passed away at the age of 100.  Her gentle and sweet personality and those twinkling blue eyes will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary was born in Yonkers, NY on September 28, 1911, the oldest of four daughters of the late George and Ellen Moore Brennan. When her father died at the age of 46, she left school to support her mother and young sisters.  Mary eventually returned to school and graduated from the Cochrane Business School.  She was employed for twenty-three years as an administrative assistant for the County Trust Company.  Mary was an avid reader and always said “a book is a friend.” She was predeceased by her devoted husband James, whom she married on February 9, 1935.  They shared a wonderful marriage that spanned over sixty years.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Sheahan; granddaughter, Maura Sheahan; and her three sisters, Mildred Brennan, Genevieve Urrutia and Eleanor Brennan.

She is survived by her daughter, Lesley Finnegan, and her husband Joseph of Lake Royale; three grandchildren; Commander Joseph Finnegan (ret) and his wife, Elizabeth, of Washington, D.C., Ellen Ordonez of Fairfax, VA, and James Finnegan and fiancée, Lori Natale of Kernersville, NC. She is also survived by her seven great-grandchildren; Daniel and Kevin Ordonez, Margaret (Maggie) and Joseph (Joey) Finnegan, III, Matthew and William (Will) Finnegan and Sean Sheahan Sandberg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Wake Forest at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 30th.  Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary’s memory can be made to the Building Fund at St. Catherine, 560 West Holding Avenue, Wake Forest, NC  27587 or the Franklin County Library System, 906 N. Main Street, Louisburg, NC  27549.
