Michael Leonard was instrumental in education in Franklin County. Several years back he helped to plan and introduce a program for 7-8 grade students in math. The students were given instructions for designing an imaginary house. The winners were given scholarship money by the Franklin COunty Home Builders Association. This program has been beneficial to many students. He thought about the future of students. This program was shared with NC Dept. of Public Instruction. I appreciate all the work and concern that Mr. Leonard provided for Franklin COunty Schools and students. Shelby B. Street Retired from Franklin COunty Schools
