ALLEN W. KEMP
CHARLOTTE - Allen Wilder Kemp, age 102, formerly of Charlotte, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007. A memorial service was conducted at the Forest Lawn West Cemetery Chapel on Feb. 8, with the Rev. Dr. W. Carter Lofton officiating.

He graduated in 1927 from N.C. State University with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked for 42 years at Duke Power Company before retiring in 1965.

Mr. Kemp was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Travis Kemp, and Adeline Anderson Cowart Kemp, his second wife; one granddaughter and one grandson.

Surviving: his daughter, Anne Kemp Davis of Lake Wylie, S.C.; stepdaughter, Dinah Cowart Dunn of Charlotte; sister, Edith Kemp Frisbie; brothers, Herman C. Kemp and Toliver T. Kemp, all of Louisburg; three grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, Ill 60601-7633.
