BRENDA K. JOHNSON
FRANKLINTON - Brenda Gail Kearney Johnson, 55, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 11, at First United Church of Christ, Franklinton, with the Rev. Douglas Wooten officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

She was born in Franklinton to Edith Rodwell Kearney and the late Eunice Clarence Kearney Jr. After graduating from Franklinton High School, she pursued a career in the field of electronics, receiving many awards and certifications.

Surviving: husband, John R. Johnson of the home; daughter, Kiwana Gail Johnson of Raleigh; her mother, Edith R. Kearney of Franklinton; stepchildren, Charlena Lee (Tony) of Raleigh, Maurice Johnson (Aimee) of Carrboro, Michael Johnson (Vick) of Arlington, Tex., June Edwards (Gary) of New Jersey, and Johnika Johnson of Wake Forest; sisters, Shirley Hayes Kearney of Greensboro and Marguarite Pender (Roger) of Franklinton; brothers, Eunice C. Kearney III (Agnes) of Monroe and James Arthur Kearney (Doris) of Pleasantville, N. J.; one grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Arrangements handled by Cutchins Funeral Home, Franklinton.
