ROSABELLE J. LANCASTER
LOUISBURG - Rosabelle J. Lancaster, 100, of Louisburg, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Autumn Care Nursing Home in Nashville. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lancaster Funerals and Cremations.

She was born July 9, 1906 in Randolph County, N.C. to the late Robert Lee and Anna Morgan Johnson. She attended East Carolina Teachers College two years and Wake Forest Summer School. She was an elementary school teacher and principal for two years. July 4, 1928 she married William Green Lancaster of Rocky Mount, NC. She and her husband founded Lancaster Funeral Home in 1935, and moved to Louisburg in 1936. She worked as his secretary for thirty-four years. For more than sixty years she was an active member of the Louisburg Baptist Church and the WMU. She was a charter member of the William Robert Mills Book Club for fifty-two years and the Louisburg Garden Club. She was active in the Eastern Star and a member of the community concert series for years and a supporter of Louisburg College.

Survivors include a son, William Green Lancaster, Jr. and wife, Ann of Louisburg, and a daughter, Nelle Lancaster Bailey of High Point, N.C.; grandchildren, Cynthia B. Morgan and husband, Richard, Barbara B. Harris and husband, Jim, Martha B. Clark and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Grace Morgan Kavanaugh and husband, Greg, Eli Morgan and John Casey Morgan, Eric Harris, Brittany Harris and Blake Harris, Lauren Clark, Caroline Clark and Abigail Clark; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Louisburg Baptist Church, Box 730, Louisburg, NC 27549 or to a charity of one's choice.
