EMMA MARGARET REX
MOBILE, ALA. - Emma Margaret Moore Catlett Rex passed away after a long illness on April 25th in Mobile, Alabama. She was 85.

“Maggie” was born and raised in Louisburg, NC, and, in more recent years, lived in Boynton Beach, FL, and Saraland, AL. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Florida chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans Association. She was also a member of the Tropical Organ Club music group and the Jazzy Red Hats Club of Boca Raton, FL, and the Boynton Beach Mall Walkers Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John P. and Geneva P. Moore; brothers, Graham, Kenneth, Ois and Wade Moore; sister, Mable Moore Hartman; her first husband, Lorenzo G. Catlett, Sr.; grandson, Jon G. Catlett; niece, Louise Moore Ivey; nephews, Garland and David Moore, all of North Carolina.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Walter Rex; son, Lorenzo (Cindy) Catlett, Jr.; grandson, Glen (Kimberly) Catlett; great-grandson, Joshua Catlett, all of Saraland, AL; sister-in-law, Clara Catlett of Florida; brother-in-law, Epp (Mildred) Catlett of North Carolina; nieces, Ann Lancaster, Betty Jo Redmond, Mary Wilder Moore, Carolyn Dorman, Crystal Catlett, Debra Lancaster, Faye Walker, all of North Carolina, Norma Jean Blackwell of Florida, Cathy Thero of Georgia, Barbara Senft of Pennsylvania, Nancy Rex and Diane Widzins of Florida; nephews, Maj. Phillip Moore, Wilbur Moore and Morris Catlett of North Carolina, Rom Catlett of Virginia, John Hulsey of Georgia, Ray Rex, Jr., Charles Rex and Robert Rex of Florida, Walter Rex and Rev. William Rex of Pennsylvania; many beloved great-nieces, great-nephews, and very special friends.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5th, at Strickland Funeral Home in Louisburg, NC, with a memorial service immediately following. Burial will be in Lancaster Memorial Park, Louisburg, NC.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 3201 Dauphin St., Suite D, Mobile, AL, 36606, or the charity of your choice.
