WAKE FOREST - William Paul Childers Jr., 82, died Saturday, May 13, 2017. A memorial service was held Thursday, May 18, at Centerville Baptist Church, Louisburg. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 20, at 10 a.m. at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.

He was a resident of The Lodge in Wake Forest. He was born to the late Rev. William Paul Childers Sr. and Addie Beaty Childers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Ann Childers. He attended Louisburg Junior College and graduated from Wake Forest University with a B.A. in Business Administration. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1956 -1958, he began his career with Ford Motor Credit Company.

Surviving: two children, Jeri Lynne Childers of Sydney, Australia and William P. Childers III of Raleigh; and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Centerville Baptist Church, 3056 NC Hwy 58, Louisburg, NC 27549.
