R. JOYCE BELL CREEKMORE “SMITH”
SPRING HOPE - Ruby Joyce Creekmore “Smith,” 76, of Spring Hope passed away Monday, May 8, 2006, at Wake Medical Center with her family at her bedside. A funeral service to honor her will be held Thursday, May 11, at 6:00 in the evening at Rock Spring Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Melton Tyson.

She was born on Dec. 31, 1929 to the late Ed and Mary Bell, the youngest of ten children, and the last to survive her parents. She retired from Westinghouse in Raleigh, NC. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a caretaker to her family and a wonderful family member to so many.

She was preceded in death by her husbands: Robert E. Lee Creekmore and Spencer W. Smith; a son, Robert Ernest Creekmore; and two stepsons.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter and son-in-law, Betty C. Bryant and Dwight; a grandson, Timothy D. Bryant; a granddaughter and husband, Tracey Buchanan and Deney; a granddaughter and husband, Tiffany Chesser and Allen; great-grandchildren, Payton Bryant, Hayley Buchanan, and Tre Chesser; special friends, Louise Vines and Michael Moss. She is also survived by a step family and many other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends in the church vestibule immediately following the service and all other times at the home of Deney and Tracey Buchanan, 4516 Seven Paths Rd., Spring Hope, NC 27882. The family will have a private burial.

The service for this loved one is being entrusted to Lancaster Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg, NC 27549.
