JAMES A. WEATHERS JR.
GALAX, Va. - James A. Weathers Jr. (Jay), 49, of Galax, VA, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007 at Twin County Regional Healthcare. He was born Sunday, December 1, 1957 to James A. and Joyce Knott Weathers of Louisburg.

In addition to being a loving husband, father, and grandfather, Jay was a wonderful son, brother and friend to many.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Galax.

He was a warehouse manager for 23 years for Novo-Nordysk Biochemical.

Survivors include his wife, Cathleen Embrey Weathers; one daughter, Brooke C. Smith and son-in-law Donny of Wake Forest; three sons, James Ashley Weathers III, Ryan Matthew Weathers, and Nathan Tyler Weathers of Galax, VA; two sisters, Jennifer W. Perry and brother-in-law Ford of Louisburg and Julie Glyn Weathers of Youngsville; one granddaughter, Sadie Taylor Smith; one niece, Jamie Leigh Neal; and special friend, Lori Tyman.

The family will receive friends at Twin County Funerals on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Les Lawrence.

Contributions may be made to either Gideon’s International or the American Cancer Society.
