ARTHUR A. MCDONALD JR.
DURHAM - Arthur Allen McDonald Jr., 88, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 31, in the chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, with the Rev. Jim Bell officiating. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery.

He was born to the late Arthur A. and Mary Reade McDonald. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941-1946. Mr. McDonald graduated from the University of Richmond Law School in 1952 and began his practice of law in Durham in 1953 with his father.

Surviving: his wife, Eleanor Anne White McDonald; his son, Arthur A. McDonald III; a brother, the Rev. Walter N. McDonald of Louisburg; sisters, Dr. Ruth Vingiello of Monroe, La., Flora Dean of Raleigh; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family suggests that contributions may be made to Duke Memorial United Methodist Church, 504 W. Chapel Hill St., Durham, NC 27701 or the charity of your choice.
