Cartoon Caption Challenge for 1-16-2008
Cartoon Caption Challenge for 1-16-2008
This is your opportunity to be an editorial cartoonist.

Each issue, we will post a cartoon without a caption and you get to fill in the punchline.

Here are a few guidelines that may help you submit the funniest line...

  • Keep it short. Cartoon humor is the most powerful when it is short and to
    the point.

  • Be original and don't settle for the obvious.

  • These are editorial cartoons so don't worry about your caption being too
biting or scathing. However, remember I won't post vulgarity or anything
    libelous.

Just click on "more" under the cartoon and then post your caption in the
"what's your opinion" feature. Write as many as you wish and then compare
    yours to the rest.

  • Printer-friendly format

Um, did anybody tell them the new county line has our home listed in Wake?

    By: HelloSheep on 1/16/08
Honey... I hope this gap between us gets farther and farther apart. They scare me...

Daddy, do they know they're about to fall off of a cliff?

    By: Tazmania on 1/16/08
I know that the writers are on strike, but I am already getting tired of these re-runs.

Children, become a consultant and get paid $12,000 to tell our fearless leaders to hold a sign.

Mom, Dad, have any of these clowns ever heard of an impact fee?

    By: rwchampion on 1/16/08
This county already has an impact fee for schools. It is called the Adequated Public Schools Ordinance. They have been collecting that fee for over a year now.

    By: johncena on 1/16/08
that APSO is a joke. it is not even close to what most other areas are pulling in for impact fees. it's all the poo-pooing from special interest groups that bog down and weaken any policy that concerns growth.

    By: rwchampion on 1/17/08
It is based on what the school system states it needs to provide capacity. It can't provide for prior inadequacies in the system.

Honey, are you telling me they paid $12,000 for a consultant to tell them to make a $4 sign?

    By: johncena on 1/17/08
"Look mom and dad, the Bad News Bears are looking for a sponsor."

    By: firefly1 on 1/17/08
Which one did you say is selling the land?

    By: johncena on 1/17/08
the whole process of how the APSO came about was a joke. if a committee or board could make the decision without having "chicken little's" crying the blues, we'd have something effective. if you can afford a 150,000 $ home, an additional 5 or 10k over is not going to harm you.

You see son, that generation of leadership over there closed their eyes to the illegal influx of aliens into our USA, especially North Carolina, and super especially Franklin County. Now to teach you and other Franklin County children a lesson we are going to have you attend school in illegal alien overcrowded schools. This way when they go back to there country they will be well educated for our former manufacturing jobs and you will be left in the dust. That will teach you a lesson and save me and your mom a few bucks!

(This is a cartoon caption challenge, not a place to post non-captioned comments. Read!)
