J. HAROLD “RED” DICKERSON
LOUISBURG – James Harold “Red” Dickerson, 82, of Louisburg, died Wednesday morning.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Doris May Dickerson, and was a son of the late James Graham and Marilda Strickland Dickerson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Roger Dickerson. Harold owned and operated Dickerson’s Garage and served as a Franklin County magistrate.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Melton Tyson officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.

Harold is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Dickerson of Princeton, Faye and Richard Nelson of Rocky Mount, Wendy Watkins of Louisburg; son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Debbie Dickerson of Louisburg; sister, Merle Ferguson of Durham; brothers, Maurice Dickerson of Spring Hope, Ivan Dickerson of Rocky Mount, Ashley Dickerson of Kinston, Phil Dickerson of Greenville, and Fred Dickerson of Raleigh; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Annie Richardson of Louisburg.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Rock Spring Baptist Church, 34 Rock Spring Church Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549 or Hill King U.M.C., 1989 NC 39 Hwy., Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family received friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Friday at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg.
