CHARLES R. SMITH
APEX - Charles R. Smith, 70, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at Wake Medical Center. A memorial service was conducted Tuesday, March 28, at Crossroads Fellowship Church, Raleigh.

He was retired from First Citizens Bank and Trust after more than 30 years of service.

Surviving: his wife, Lucy Smith; sons, Shelton Scott Smith (Paige) of Franklinton, David Franklin Smith (Cathy) of Westerville, Ohio, and William Thomson Decatur of Apex; daughters, Laura Kathleen Smith of Phoeniz, Ariz., and Heather D. Craig of Wendell; a former wife, B.J. Smith of Raleigh; brothers, Harold Smith (Lisa) of Albuquerque, N.M., Jeryl Smith (Elaine) of Mooresville; sister, Phyllis Black (Odell) of Concord; and five grandchildren.
