ANNIE GEORGE FERGUSON
LOUISBURG - Annie George Ferguson, 81, beloved mother, grandmother, wife and friend passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Annie lived with her daughter and family for the past six years at 1094 Hickory Rock Road, Louisburg, NC.

Annie was born in Henderson to parents, the late Willie Lewis George and Pearl Lee England. She graduated from Sandhills Community College where she received a degree and was a registered nurse. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the University of North Carolina in the Recovery Room. After 15 years there, she went to Oxford Orphanage as the Infirmary nurse. She subsequently retired with the state of North Carolina.

Annie was married to Robert Wiley Ferguson for 50 years. Robert was also an employee of Oxford Orphanage. Annie was a multitalented, dynamic woman as well as a nurse. She was an artist, sculptor, seamstress, and interior decorator, to name a few.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert on March 15, 2000. She was also preceded by a brother, Willie Lewis George of Wendell, NC, and a sister, Margie Nelson of Augusta, GA.

Mrs. Ferguson is survived by a son, Reginald V. Ferguson; grandson, Zachary Barrett Ferguson of Augusta, GA; granddaughter, Regina Caprice Johannsen of Raleigh, NC; Marcia Gonnella Ferguson, mother of Zachary; Bryan, Richard and Rocky Gonnella, half brothers to Zachary, all of Augusta, GA; daughter, Sherry Ferguson Watson, and her husband, Edgerton L. Watson, Jr.; grandson, Edgerton L. Watson, III; granddaughter, Autumn Blake Watson, all of Louisburg, NC

Memorial Service: 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the home of Eddie and Sherry Watson, 1094 Hickory Rock Road, Louisburg, NC 27549; 919-496-6101.

Memorials may be made to The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27569 or Tender Loving Care Hospice, 1937 NC Highway 39 North, Louisburg, NC 27549. Flowers are also appreciated.
