JAMES R. PERRY SR.
WAKEFIELD, Va. - James R. Perry Sr., 93, died Thursday, June 12, 2008.

He was born in Franklin County to the late Peter and Leigh McKnight Perry. He attended Franklin County schools and recently attended his class reunion where he was recognized as the oldest living class member. He also completed two years of business school. He worked as an insurance agent for many years in North Carolina and also worked as a lumber grader at Lewis Lumber Company in North Carolina and Wakefield, Va.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jessie Perry, and a sister, Viola Hazelwood.

Surviving: his wife, Quinteler Boykins Perry of the home; four sons, Elder Napoleon Walker (Annie) of Franklinton, James Robert Perry Jr. of Charleston, S.C., Percy Perry (Ann) of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., William Perry of Raleigh; one daughter, Annette Perry of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; 30 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; three nephews; five great-nephews; two nieces and seven great-nieces.
