OTHA L. HAYES JR.
HENDERSON - Otha Lee Hayes Jr., 75, of Henderson (Epsom Community) died Monday, June 12, 2006 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at New Bethel Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Frank Adam and the Rev. Jim Curtis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born in Warren County, he was the son of the late Otha Lee Hayes Sr. and Gertie Dickerson Hayes. He was a retired farmer and U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Surviving: his wife, Shirley Corbett Hayes; sons, Randy Lee Hayes and Danny Lynn Hayes, both of Henderson; sister, Jessie H. Stegall of Henderson; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Faye Hayes and Debbie Hayes; a sister, Elizabeth H. Renn; and a brother, James Furman Hayes.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight (Wednesday, June 14) at Flowers Funeral Home in Henderson. All other times, they will be at the home, 1510 Cheeks Quarter Road, Henderson.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to New Bethel Baptist Church, Building Fund, c/o Debra Woodlief, 1238 New Bethel Church Road, Henderson, N.C. 27537, or to Hospice, 1937 NC Hwy. 39 N, Louisburg, NC 27549.
