EMILY H. DORSEY
September 7, 1906 – August 19, 2008
LOUISBURG – Emily Honeycutt Dorsey, 101, of the White Level Community, Louisburg, died Tuesday morning at her home.

Mrs. Dorsey was a daughter of the late George and Martha Honeycutt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Beecher T. Dorsey; son, Talmadge Dorsey; beloved granddaughter, Pamela Shearon; sisters, Mary Graham, Tressie Core, Georgia Autry, Reba Honeycutt; brother, Wiley Honeycutt; sons-in-law, Ronald Layton, Vernon Tharrington, Eddie Burnette. Mrs. Dorsey was a very active and long-time member of White Level Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at White Level Baptist Church with the Rev. Henry Stamper officiating. Burial will follow in the Dorsey Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Dorsey is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Elwood and Shirley Dorsey, Sherman and Lizzie Dorsey; daughters and sons-in-law, Vera D. Tharrington, Barbara D. Layton, Linda D. and Ray Shearon, Brenda D. Burnette, all of Louisburg, Jackie D. and John Parrish of Raleigh; sisters, Nellie H. Hamilton and Beulah H. Pleasants, both of Stedman, Etta H. Moody of Fayetteville; daughter-in-law, Frances Dorsey of La Mirada, CA; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to White Level Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2400 White Level Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family will receive friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg, and other times at the home.
