SUMMERVILLE, SC - Shirley Stokes Taylor, 82, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008 at her residence. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at St. James United Methodist Church, Greenville, N.C. A private entombment will be at Pinewood Memorial Park, Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gherman Andrew Taylor Jr., and three brothers, Eugene, Earl and Loyd Stokes.
Surviving: one daughter, Jo T. Hopkins (Arni) of Columbia, N.C.; one son, Gherman Andrew “Drew” Taylor III (Karla) of North Charleston, S.C.; and one brother, Ben Stokes (Diane) of Castalia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Sue Knight Sunday School Class, c/o Bethany United Methodist Church, 118 W. 3rd South St., Summerville, SC 29483.
