GERALD PERRY BREWER
KINSTON - Gerald Perry Brewer, 73, of Kinston went to be with his LORD on October 28, 2008. Gerald was born October 24, 1935 in Louisburg, N.C. He served his country in the United States Army as a Military Police officer. He served the state of North Carolina and his community in the N.C. Highway Patrol, retiring after 30 years of service.

He has three children, Donna, Scott and Joshua. He was a very loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved his church family at Jackson Heights Free Will Baptist Church in Kinston. Gerald loved the outdoors and he was a devoted NC State Wolfpack Fan. He would talk often of when he farmed with one of his best friends, Ronnie, in Scotland Neck, N.C. and sitting at the country store at lunch and having the best time. He had a very special bond with his fellow State Troopers, whom he respected and loved very much. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and talking about his grandchildren. He loved so much sitting around the table with his brother and sisters, telling stories of when they were growing up to his children and grandchildren, which always brought a smile and a laugh to him.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Macy and Nona Brewer, and sister, Mary Ann Parrish.

He is survived by his sisters, Elaine Stephenson and husband Glenn of Willow Spring, N.C., Janet Jones of Louisburg; brother, M.G. Brewer Jr. of Kinston; daughter, Donna Wilson and husband John of St. Joseph, Missouri; sons, Scott Brewer of Kinston and Joshua Brewer of Greenville, N.C.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Miller of St. Joseph, Missouri; Christian Brewer and Noah Brewer, both of Kinston; and many very special family members and friends. We already miss you so much Daddy, but one day, we will all be together again.

The family received friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2008 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Jackson Heights Free Will Baptist Church, with the Reverend Ashley Summerlin officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the N.C. Troopers Association, 1500 Sunday Drive, Suite 102, Raleigh, NC 27607. For credit card donations, call 1-800-446-7334.

Arrangements by Howard-Carter Funeral Home.
