LILLIAN M. STEPHENSON
RALEIGH - Lillian Mitchiner Stephenson, 98, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 12, 2008. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today (Saturday, Nov. 15) at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary’s Street. After the service, the family at home will receive relatives and friends. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at Severn Cemetery in Northampton County.

She was born in Franklin County to the late Emma and Walton Mitchiner. She graduated from East Carolina Teachers College in 1932, and she was a North Carolina Century Farmer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ardell Moring Stephenson, and a brother, Watson Mitchiner.

Surviving: daughters, Susan L. Stephenson of Raleigh, Patricia S. Koppels (Chuck) of Woodbury, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to DUMC United Methodist Women, Dilworth United Methodist Church, 605 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
