JOYCE K. WEATHERS
January 13, 1936 – January 16, 2009
LOUISBURG – Joyce Knott Weathers, 73, of Louisburg, passed away Friday at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Joyce was a daughter of the late Alton G. and Mildred Sledge Knott. She was preceded in death by her son, James A. “Jay” Weathers, Jr.; brothers, John A Knott and Phillip Knott, and was a member of Louisburg Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Louisburg Baptist Church, with Dr. Reggie Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 53 years, James A. Weathers; daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer and Ford Perry of Louisburg, Julie Weathers and Lori Tyman of Youngsville; daughter-in-law, Cathleen C. Weathers of Galax, VA; sister, Linda Griffin of Louisburg; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Polly Knott of Louisburg; sisters- in-law, Elaine Knott of Louisburg and Karen Stotesberry of Swan Quarter; grandchildren, Brook Smith and husband Donnie, Jacob Weathers, Jamie Leigh Neal, Ryan Weathers and Nathan Weathers; great-granddaughter, Sadie Smith; special friend of the family, Josephine Alston.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Louisburg Baptist Church, Neighbors Fund, P.O. Box 730, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family will receive friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg.
