FRANKLINTON - Ann Holmes Collins, 77, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Popes Chapel United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Don Ward presiding. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.

A native of Franklinton, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Irene Holmes. She was a member of Popes Chapel United Church of Christ, former secretary and a member of the choir.

Surviving: her husband, Joe Collins of Franklinton; daughters, JoAnn Ball (Jimmy) and Carol Abbott (Phillip) of Franklinton; sisters, Nell Cyrus of Franklinton and Dorothy Newton of Creedmoor; brother, Henry Holmes of Oxford; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
