FRANKLINTON - Sam R. Perry, 61, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 at Granville Medical Center. Memorial services were conducted Sunday, Feb. 22, at Gentry-Newell and Vaughan Funeral Chapel in Oxford by the Rev. Donald W. Ward.
A native of Granville County, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Surgical Assistant Program, and an employee with Dr. David Noel and Triangle Orthopedic Associates, P.A.
Surviving: wife, Marcia Gaye Perry; son, Jeremy Gray Perry of Raleigh; brother, Kenneth Perry of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister, Joan Bass of Franklinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a son, Marcus Kyle Perry.
