Mudcats make pick for their new skipper
CLEVELAND, OHIO -- The Cleveland Indians have named Edwin Rodriguez as Manager of the Class-A Advanced Carolina Mudcats of the Carolina League.
Rodriguez, 51, compiled a two-year managerial record of 78-85 (.479) over his two seasons as Manager of the Florida Marlins from June 23, 2010 to June 18, 2011, becoming the first Puerto Rican-born manager in Major League history.

Local police began looking for a “woman” who robbed the SunTrust Bank on Nov. 3.
By Nov. 10, that suspect “became” a man — identified as UNC Chapel Hill student Gordon Miller Goodwin, who is also accused of robbing the SunTrust Bank inside a Kroger store in Apex on Nov. 8.

Second mediation meeting scheduled
While Franklinton and Franklin County officials have not worked out a resolution to their water dispute, they have agreed to another mediation date.
The two boards will meet jointly at the county courthouse  at 5 p.m. on Nov. 15 — a continuation of a more than eight-hour meeting on Nov. 3 that yielded no conclusion.
