Former Louisburg High teacher/coach James Collier, right, was charged Thursday afternoon with first-degree sex offense of a student and taking indecent liberties with a student. Louisburg police found probable cause to bring the charges a week after Franklin County school staff requested the town investigate allegations that Collier had improper sexual contact with a 17-year-old student. Collier, surrounded by town and state Bureau of Investigation agents, was released after posting a $5,000 cash bond. The investigation by the SBI and the Louisburg Police Department continues, officers said. See Saturday’s edition of The Franklin Times for a complete story.
