School administrator's leaving triggers central office changes

The unexpected resignation of Dr. Larry Webb from his position as chief of auxiliary services with Franklin County Schools has triggered a reorganization of the central office staff.
Schools Supt. Dr. Rhonda Schuhler said Tuesday that she is reorganizing the staff to cover all the positions without hiring another person at Webb's level.
Dr. Webb, an eight and a half year veteran of Franklin County Schools, has accepted the job as chief operating officer with Durham Public Schools effective Dec. 9.

County's latest 'dust up' doesn't bode well for future

A friend of mine told me last week -- rather bluntly -- that I needed to apologize to 4-year-olds everywhere.

I'll try never to say something so silly and incorrect again, so please 4-year-olds, accept my sincere apologies.
What sparked all this was a long day of dealing with silly allegations made on social media, the scourge of the earth, by Sheriff Kevin White.

Early voting starts today; Can we be rid of intrusive ads tomorrow?

Franklin County has had a pretty consistent history with voter turnout; early voter turnout, particularly.
