5th Annual Military History Show
SHOWING MILITARY PRIDE For the fifth year in a row, military history and pride will be on display at the Military History Show, scheduled for Saturday, October 24th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is hosted by Harry Coombs and the Granville County Veterans Affairs Committee. The Henderson-Oxford Airport will be the site for this annual event, and this year will feature a couple of new highlights. Along with the displays by re-enactors from various eras in American military history and a vintage bi-plane, a visit by "Tinkerbell", a Curtiss C-46 Commando transport, as well as helicopter rides offered by Flight Solutions will be added to this year's slate of activities and displays. Visitors also will be able to view a Vietnam-era Medivac helicopter, several military vehicles, and firing demonstrations by various units. The silent auction that was added to last year's event and proved to be a popular attraction will continue again this year. The show is free and open to the public. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Veterans Affairs Committee of Granville County. For more information, or to donate or sponsor, contact Harry Coombs at 919-691-7697. We ask that all attendees wear masks as they enter the gate in keeping with current restrictions. Show your support for all our veterans and join us for a trip back in time for the military history of our country.
