LOUISBURG – Ollie Daniel Duke Jr., 89, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 19, 2013. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home.
He was a son of the late Ollie D. and Lizzie K Duke. He was preceded in death by his sister, Magdalene Wester; brothers, Timothy Duke, Horace Duke, Arthur Duke, Paul “Witt” Duke, Bill Duke, and George Duke.
He was an Air Force veteran of WW II and a retired heavy equipment mechanic.
Surviving: son, Ricky Duke (fiancé, Linda); daughter, Judy (Drew) Gupton of Garner; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
