FRANKLINTON-Lavern Griffin Stott, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 24, at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Franklinton. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery, Franklinton.

Lavern was born in Franklin County to the late H. Clemmon and Athaleah Griffin. She worked for the state of North Carolina with the Department of Transportation for more than 30 years, retiring in 1990. She was actively involved in Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Stott; brother, Kermit Griffin; and a sister, Rosile Tant.

Surviving: a daughter, Pamela Kearney (Harold) of Franklinton; son, Anthony E. Radford of Franklinton; sister, Dianne Forsberg (Jay) of West End; one grandson; four nieces, five nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
