LOUISBURG - Shirley Dickerson Hale, 81, of the Alert Community, died Sunday night, April 28, 2019. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Alert Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Pernell family cemetery.

Shirley was a daughter of the late Burl Ayscue and Elsie Dickerson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Hale, and her son, Frankie Hale; sister, Carrie Daniels; brothers, Joe Ayscue, Bill Ayscue and Sid Evans.

Surviving: her son, Freddie Hale of Louisburg; daughters, Sandra (Eddie) Phelps of Wise; Angela Hale, Tammy (Curly) Malone, all of Louisburg; Kathy (Larry) Barnhill of Clinton; sisters, Ann Faulkner, Jean Ayscue, Linda Fuller, Sheila Mosley, Patricia Beckham and Charlene Finch; brothers, Billy Evans, David Evans and Gar Bailey Ayscue; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 7 - 8:30 tonight, Tuesday, April 29, at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
