LOUISBURG - Betty "JoAnn" Shepherd Gupton, 73, of Louisburg, died at her home Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020. A funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 19, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg. Interment followed at Saints Delight Baptist Church, 565 Firetower Rd. Louisburg.
She was born April 23, 1947 in Robeson County, a daughter of the late William Russel Shepherd, Sr, and Missie (Horne) Shepherd. She was predeceased by her husband, Leamon Earl Gupton Sr.
She worked as a teacher's assistant for TMH classes in Franklin County and also as a nurse's assistant.
Surviving: her children: Leamon E. Gupton II, (Michelle) of Louisburg, Russel Gupton of Castalia and Melissa Barr (Thomas) of Louisburg; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren: one brother, Russel Shepherd, Jr. (Elaine) of Whiteville.
