CASTALIA, NC-- Everett T. Creekmore, 79, of Castalia, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. He was born in Nash County on February 8, 1942 a son of the late Robert C. and Nellie G. (Bowden) Creekmore. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings.
Everett was known as an avid baseball player throughout Nash and Franklin Counties. He also coached many softball leagues. Everett was a devoted lifelong member of Red Bud Baptist Church in Castalia, where he participated on many fundraising events, sang in the church choir, was a Deacon as well as a Sunday School teacher for many years. He also enjoyed hunting.
Everett is survived by his wife of 59 years, Martha (Mosley) Creekmore, his children: Mary Ann Henne (Henry) and Rusty Creekmore (Mary); grandchildren: Crissy Cone (Jon), Felicia Ayscue (Billy), Alexis Mowery, and J.J. Crotts; great grandchildren: Lily Turner, Jackson Turner, Brian Cash, Grayson Ayscue, and Dylan Lee; sisters: Dottie Anderson and Evelyn Bryan (J.T.) and many nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m., on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Red Bud Baptist Church, 832 NC 58 Hwy., Castalia, NC 27816.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804
