CLYDE LEE WAIDEN JR.

FRANKLINTON, NC -- Clyde Lee Waiden Jr. passed away on October 19, 2021. Clyde was born on November 13, 1945 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida to the late Clyde Sr, and Ruth May Waiden.

He is survived by a brother, Gene Waiden; his four children, Michelle, Melanie, Michael, and Melissa; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his beloved cat named Callie.

Clyde served in the U. S. Air Force where he was Crew Chief on a C-141. He pastored five churches and served as interim to many more, winning people to Christ. Clyde and Sharon ran City Lunch for many years which was started by his parents. He was a people person and Clyde truly enjoyed visiting hospitals, Nursing Homes and shut ins just as much as he enjoyed talking to those sitting at the counter at City Lunch.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Franklinton Baptist Church with Reverends David Averette and Spencer Strickland officiating. Clyde's request was for those in attendance to be casual and if you own a City Lunch shirt to please wear it. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery where military honors will be rendered.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Paws for Life P.O. Box 338 Youngsville, NC 27596 , Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel is caring for the Waiden family. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.
