ERMA D. STRICKLAND
June 11, 1909 – May 7, 2006

BUNN – Erma Daphine Strickland, 96, of Bunn, passed away Sunday night.

Miss Strickland was a daughter of the late Bennett Perry and Geneva Holly Breedlove Strickland and was preceded in death by her sisters, Olivia Strickland, Thelma Phillips, Ruth Baker and Myrtle Dickerson and Marilda Dickerson; brothers, Oliver Strickland, William Strickland, R.B. Strickland, Rufus Strickland, Eugene Strickland and Candler Strickland. She was a member of a large and close family. Miss Strickland was an active member of Bunn Baptist Church and the Bunn Community as long as her health permitted.

Miss Strickland is survived by her ‘adopted son’, Lewis Strickland and his wife Page Allen Strickland of Wicomico, VA, and their children Lincoln Strickland and wife Jill of Gloucester, VA, David Strickland and wife Julie of Elizabeth City, Beth Andrews and husband Steve of Arlington, VA; and 4 great grandchildren; sister, Vivian Gosnell of Lynchburg, VA; brothers, Crowell Strickland and wife Ruby, Ray Strickland and wife Mattie, all of Louisburg, Kenneth Strickland and wife Marilyn of Clayton; sisters in-law, Frances Strickland of Louisburg, Margaret Strickland of Bernalillo, NM; many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bunn Baptist Church with Rev. James Best and Rev. Alfred Snipes officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg.
