CHRISTINE W. BRIGGS

Louisburg, NC-- Our dear mother, Christine Ward Briggs of Louisburg North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2022 at the age of 89. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Ellen Ward, one of seven children who grew up in Madison County, North Carolina.

Christine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Thomas Briggs. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Place (Dale) of Louisburg, Jeff Briggs (Shawn) of Toronto, her grandchildren Maghan Walker (Charlie) of Wendell, Matthew Place (Spencer) of Louisburg, and her great-grandchild Briggs Walker.

Christine and Tom moved to Louisburg in 1996 where they were members of Louisburg Baptist Church. Prior to moving to Louisburg they had been lifetime residents of Asheville. A strong family woman, she dearly loved her friends, neighbors and her large extended family.

A funeral service was held 2 p.m. Monday, November 28, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family received friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Louisburg Baptist Church, P.O. Box 730, Louisburg, NC 27549.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
