Dorothy Evans Harris

FRANKLINTON, NC--Dorothy Belle Evans Harris, 96, of Franklinton passed away on November 24, 2022. She was born to the late Arthur and Verna Hight Evans on March 2, 1926. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Junious Harris; a son, Robert Arthur Harris; a daughter, Teresa Gail Harris; a grandson, Matthew Thomas Harris, and her brother, Donald Evans.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Wayne Harris; two grandchildren, Teresa Ayscue and David Harris (Brandi); and four great-grandchildren, Kevin James Strickland, Thomas Cole Strickland, Tanner Reece Ayscue, and Anabelle Grace Harris.

Dorothy was strong in her faith, she was a member and lifelong supporter of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. She was well known as a seamstress and for her cooking with many of her recipes documented in the Wesley Chapel UMC Cookbook. Dorothy loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them.

A graveside funeral service was held at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 1626 Gordon Moore Road, Franklinton, NC at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022. The family received friends following the service in the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Wesley Chapel UMC, c/o Treasurer, 1666 Suitts Store Rd., Franklinton, NC 27525, would be appreciated. Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.
