FRANKLINTON, NC--Sallie Leonard West, 99, of Franklinton died at her home Thursday, September 7, 2023. She was born June 29, 1924, to the late Johnny Leonard and Carrie Wood Leonard in Franklin County, NC.

Sallie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 36 years, Wilbur Joseph West; one sister, Metta Rae Bone; and five brothers, Jack Leonard, Sidney Leonard, G.W. Leonard, Cecil Leonard, and Johnny Leonard.

Survivors: three children, Joe West (Bessie) of Franklinton, Laverne Joyner of Franklinton, and Roger West (Deann) of Oxford; one brother, Shelton Leonard; eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family will receive friends and visitors 6-8 p.m., Monday, September 11, at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd, Louisburg. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 12, at Franklinton Living Springs Church of God, 708 Winston St., Franklinton, NC and officiated by Pastor Scott Wiggins and Pastor Bill Wiggins. Interment will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.
