Violet Jean Tingen

WAKE FOREST, NC--Violet Jean Tingen, 81, of Wake Forest, formerly of Franklinton, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She was born on February 11, 1942 in Franklin County, NC to the late Mr. Wilton Harris and Mrs. Flonnie Perry Harris.

Along with her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Benjamin Franklin Tingen and two brothers, Baby Boy Harris and Johnny Harris.

She is survived by her significant other, Ricky Rochelle of the home; her son, Randy Tingen and wife Cindy; two daughters, Kim Worley and husband James and Kelly Vaughan and husband Mike; her brother McCray Harris; granddaughter, Melissa Vercoe and husband Jamey; grandson, Wesley Worley; great-grandson Logan Vercoe, great-granddaughter Brooklyn Worley; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jean will always be remembered as a dedicated loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and birdwatching. She was a long time employee and owner of Robbin's Grill in Franklinton. She was always very involved and active in the community. She was a hardworking woman with a heart of gold and she will be missed tremendously.

Family will receive visitors on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel, 504 E. Mason St., Franklinton, NC 27525, with funeral service to immediately follow at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services.
