NANCY LYNN RAPP

FRANKLINTON, NC--Nancy Lynn Rapp, 55, was called home by God on February 27, 2024, after a three-year battle with cancer.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Nancy and her family moved to Michigan before relocating to North Carolina. She graduated from Millbrook High School in Raleigh in 1986 and was active in the folk group and CYO at St. Raphael Catholic Church.

She found joy in children and in helping others, passions she put into full measure with jobs for Sprint and Growing Child Pediatrics.

Nancy also relished her role as a passionate fan of the Carolina Hurricanes, as well as enjoying crafting and the beauty of the beach.

In addition to her early years as a member of the St. Raphael and St. Catherine parishes, Nancy loved her new family of worshippers at Our Lady of the Rosary parish in Louisburg, where she married her husband, Eric, in 2018.

Some would say she lost her three-year fight with cancer, but there's another way to look at it. She fought hard, right up to the moment God told her that she had fought the good fight, but it was time to come home and get some rest. In that sense, she won. She never stopped fighting, through many trials and tribulations, and in her fight, she found joy in others and kept a smile on her face. She was, and is, a beautiful soul who loved everyone she met. The world is truly a sadder place today without her smile in it.

She is survived by her husband, Eric Rapp; daughter, Jasmine Rigda Rapp; parents, Linda and Robert Rigda; sister, Nanette Rigda Merritt and brother-in-law Aaron Merritt; brother, Nolan Rigda and sister-in-law Chandra Rigda; brothers in-law Brian Rapp and Darren Rapp; stepson, David Rapp; stepdaughters, Jaime Rapp (Smith) and Kassie Rapp; niece, Kaylee Rigda; nephews, Dakota Rigda, Justin Rigda, Carter Merritt and Bowman Merritt; grandchildren, Alyssa, Elena and J.J. Smith, and Collin and Mason Rapp; as well as many Michigan aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Memorial Service celebrating Nancy's life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 2227 Highway 39 North, Louisburg, NC 27549.
