Rochester, NY--Bennie Goodman Brodie, the son of the late James (Jim) and Ilene Brodie of Louisburg, NC, departed this life on July 18, 2024 at Park Ridge Hospital in Rochester, NY. Bennie worked as a foreman at Clean Sweep in the city of Rochester, New York until retirement.

Survivors include his sister Annie B. Perry of Louisburg, NC; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn B. Brodie of Columbus, GA and Rose Brodie of Pueblo, Colorado; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, two God daughters, Gwendolyn and Andrea; their eight children and a lifetime friend and golf buddy Lewis Edgerton of Louisburg, NC.

Bennie was also preceded in death by his seven siblings: Dorothy (Dot) Davis, Alice Gant, Lena Chavis, John Henry, Paul Alphonza, Edward Lee (Pig), and James Robert Brodie Jr. and lifetime companion, Vergie Preston.
