MICHAEL WAYNE AYSCUE
September 11, 1935 - August 28, 2024

LOUISBURG, NC -- Michael Wayne Ayscue, 88, of Louisburg, passed away Wednesday evening, August 28, 2024, at Transitions LifeCare.

Michael was the son of the late Robert Nathaniel Ayscue and Mary Abbott Ayscue. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen M. King; and brothers, Gary Lee Ayscue and Robert Nathaniel Ayscue, Jr.

Michael proudly served this country with the United States Air Force, where he made a career and retired after his service. As well as serving in the Air Force, he spent many years volunteering with the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.

Michael is survived by his wife, Joanne D. Ayscue of Louisburg; brother Felton Ray Ayscue of Butner; sisters Bessie Simpson and husband Steve of Monroe, Catherine Harrison and husband Claude of Henderson, and Peggy Ayscue of Hendersonville; step-children Marthe J. Fortman, Paul R. Owens, Seth L. Owens, and Matthew K. Owens; grandsons, Garrick King and Graydon J. King; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's name may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW Processing Center, P.O. Box 2002, Milford, NH 03055-2002.
